Pulse–pressure loading effects on aviation and general engineering structures—review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper reviews various aspects of modeling an explosion on an aircraft, which can be extended to more general structures. A brief summary of material and structural models is given, followed by a detailed history of pulse–pressure loading models with an emphasis on free–free beams and how pulse characteristics affect a structure’s response. Techniques to desensitize pulse shape effects are discussed, which culminate in the form of pressure–impulse isodamage curves. Studies using random loading models are also presented. r 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Non-linear Response and Dynamic Buckling Analysis of a Cylindrical Sandwich Panel with a Flexible Core under Blast Loading
In this paper, three-dimensional displacement response of a cylindrical sandwich panel with compressible core under the action of dynamic pulse loading is addressed using the extended high order sandwich panel theory. Also, local dynamic pulse buckling of facesheets is studied by considering the Budiansky-Roth buckling criterion. It is assumed that the sandwich panels consist of orthotropic fac...
متن کاملExperimental Study of Masonry Structure Under Impact Loading and Comparing it with Numerical Modeling Results via Finite Element Model Updating
Given the sophisticated nature of the blast phenomenon in relation to structures, it is of significance to accurately investigate the structure behavior under blast loads. Due to its rapid and transient nature, blast loading is one of the most important dynamic loadings on the structures. Since masonry materials are widely used as the partition and bearing walls in the existing and newly-built ...
متن کاملHealth Monitoring for Composite under Low-Cycle Cyclic Loading, Considering Effects of Acoustic Emission Sensor Type
Composites have been widely used in the aerospace industry. Due to the requirement of a high safety for such structures, they could be considered for health monitoring. The acoustic emission approach is one of most effective methods for identifying damages in composites. In this article, standard specimens were made from carbon fibers and the epoxy resin, with the [03/902/...

Wireless biomonitoring, first used in human beings for fetal heart-rate monitoring more than 30 years ago, has now become a technology for remote sensing of patients' activity, blood pulse pressure, oxygen saturation, internal pressures, orthopedic device loading, and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Technical advances in miniaturization and wireless communications have enabled development of monito...
متن کاملEvaluating the effects of near-field earthquakes on the behavior of moment resisting frames
Following the 1994 Northridge and 1995 Kobe earthquakes, most of modern structures damaged seriously or devastated totally despite the seismic codes of these countries that had been expected to bear advanced criteria for seismic design of structures. After extensive research, the most probable reason of those destructions was attributed to special specifications of near-field earthquakes. In th...
